Dave Bruner is a printmaker living in Florida. He graduated from Virginia Wesleyan College in 1977 with a B.A. in Art and has worked full-time as an artist since then. He has won numerous awards, including Best-In Show, at juried art shows along the east coast.
Wood engraving has been Bruner’s favorite medium ever since he first tried it in 1978. He engraves the image on an end-grain wood block under a magnifying glass and then inks and prints each engraving by hand on a small press in his studio.
Many of Bruner’s images focus on moments imbued with quiet personal narrative with a sense of the humor, beauty and mystery of the visual world.
