Monhegan Village Shapes, oil on canvas, 7.5" x 8"
A recent graduate of the MFA in Painting program at the University of New Hampshire, Elizabeth Kelley divides her time between California and the southern coast of Maine. While her pictorial sensibilities are rooted in the plein air and painterly traditions, she is strongly connected to gestural abstraction and the materiality of paint. She has exhibited and sold her paintings, drawings and prints since 2006. In 2010 she was juried into the Ogunquit Arts Association, and most recently her work was selected for the Boston Young Contemporaries 2012 exhibit.
