5/15: First Show of the Season

Last weekend the Deer isle - Stonington High School art show took place in the gallery, the second time we've hosted it. We didn't have to do much except get  all the art stored or moved, and take Rebecca's nearly-finished kayak somewhere else. The variety of work and profusion of bright colors made it an interesting and fun show.

One thing I like about the show, is that I don't have to stay. Here I am, heading out to dinner. And when the show is over, the gallery starts over, empty and clean. This week we're patching and painting walls, building pedestals for new work, getting new work... all the fun before the busy season starts. By Friday much of the gallery wil be hung with a collection of bird-related art, which coincides with the Wings, Waves & Woods birding event this weekend.
