5/20: Birds, Boats & Barnacles
We re-opened on Friday. We might not have rushed it if it were not for the Wings, Waves & Woods birding weekend, but if we didn't have a deadline, it could have taken weeks to get the gallery back into shape. We didn't have high hopes for the birding event as far as drawing huge crowds, and, well, it didn't. Good excuse to get our act together, though. We hung bird art by Jacqueline Wilson, Lorraine Lans, Frederica Marshall, Jennifer Lee Morrow, Siri Beckman, and Wendy Turner. In addition, we hung non-bird work by our other gallery artists, including some newcomers, like sculptor Maureen Mainen. I'm greatly relieved to have the gallery back together.
